Sustainability

There are many choices we can make that will contribute to a more sustainable world. Something as simple as recycling can have enormous effects in reducing carbon emissions. Have a look below to see what we are doing.

Recycling and Reducing Waste

Packaging has come a long way in recent times. Most people are aware of the damaging effects that plastics have on our marine life and the environment. We wanted to eliminate our use of plastics and recycle wherever we can.

Your special pair of earrings will arrive in a sturdy little cardboard box, made from 100% post consumer fibres. We use recycled tissue paper and biodegradable plant-based raffia. The boxes are sent in a fully recyclable package made from recycled materials.

The ocean will thank you.

Carbon Emissions Reduction Shipping

Delivery logistics can clock up large amounts of carbon emissions. In the world of online purchasing, it's easy to forget this component of our shopping experience. Globally, transport and logistics contribute 10% of annual carbon emissions.

We have chosen to use Australia Post to deliver your earrings. Australia Post reduce emissions through a range of initiatives such as operating the largest electric delivery vehicle fleet in Australia, and generating more of their own solar electricity.

Our Suppliers

We have chosen sterling silver earring suppliers that play their part in being sustainable. Handcrafted items are made by using simple hand tools and machines. They use natural and authentic gemstones that will stand the test of time, instead of artificial products that will fail and break in a short period of time. Gemstones and silver from old designs are recycled into new designs, and they recycle silver dust from the polishing process. Shells and coral are sourced from beaches, and pearls are farmed using sustainable methods. They recycled packaging and use recycled materials post production where possible. These companies are small family run businesses that treat all their employees like their own family.
